Description

I'd read about making spheres of light and had been wanting to try it for quite a while. I'd practiced a couple of times in my yard and made some pretty good spheres, so I thought I could pull the technique off. I was now waiting for the right time.

I'd always wanted to take a photo of the Brown Canyon Ranch house with Orion rising over it. We knew the caretaker, Tommy, and brought coffee and Apple Streudel for a star picnic one night when Orion would be in the proper position.

I made quite a few images with the house and Orion and I decided to try doing some spheres. They didn't come out too bad but I definitely could use more practice for there are more openings than I'd like.

Still, it's a unique image that I'm happy with and we had a great time enjoying the struedel, coffee, Orion, and the good company of our gracious host. We miss ya, Tommy!
