Description

The Umpqua River Lighthouse is unique amongst lighthouses, with a first-order red and white Fresnel lens. Originally part of the U.S. Coast Guard, it was officially handed over to Douglas County on April 14, 2012. Overlooking Winchester Bay, the 65-foot tower, its museum, and the surrounding Umpqua River State Park are now operated by the Douglas County Parks Department.
