Description

I took this one on my birthday in 2005. I took the day off from work, packed up the camera gear, and headed down to the San Pedro river. It was a great outing and I took quite a few good photos that day.

Cottonwoods (Poupulus fremontii) turn a satiny grey when they die. The color and texture of the wood is quite remarkable. I liked the contrast of this dead cottonwood against the autumn colors of the live trees behind it.
