Description

An old makeshift sluice used for panning ore. Water was piped into one end and release into the creek bed from the other. The corrugated metal roof offered scant protection from the elements, probably trapping and transferring heat to those beneath it. Still, the workers were probably glad that the harsh rays of the Sun were kept off of their heads, shoulders, and backs.
